KODENSHI will be exhibiting at CES2026, the world’s largest annual trade show for consumer electronics and technology products. We will showcase our aerial interface module, distance sensors, dust sensor, smart kitchens, and smart bathroom.
Visit our booth #51162 to find out more details.
There are often situations where one hesitates to operate devices due to wet or greasy hands. KODENSHI has developed a Smart Kitchen solution to address this issue, leveraging our proprietary sensor technology. This Smart Kitchen allows users to interact with airborne images on a touch screen. Through this interaction, users can remotely control various household appliances such as lighting, induction cooktops, ventilation fans, and even functions like turning kitchen faucets on/off or adjusting water flow – all without the need for physical contact. This innovation promotes a non-contact lifestyle.
While the prevailing trend in IoT involves using smartphone-based smart remotes, which often rely on voice commands or manual input, these methods can be challenging for older individuals. The smart kitchen, however, is built on the concept of delivering an intuitive and user-friendly experience. It incorporates convenient features that developers themselves would desire to use, resulting in a kitchen that embodies a sense of the future. For more detailed information, please click here.
Smart Bathroom Vanity
As a concept exhibition that combines a mirror display with a non-contact input device to manipulate screen information, we will exhibit "Futuristic! Smart Bathroom Vanity" that assumes a morning situation in the home.
In recent years, a number of smart home products have emerged that provide tools and services to streamline housework and childcare, and there is a growing desire to cherish the communication with children and time spent with family, even in the midst of busy schedules. However, about the hectic bathroom scene in the morning, no significant change has been observed so far.
By nature, in order to serve the function as a full-length mirror, mirrors tend to be reluctant to reflect anyone other than themselves or to get dirty by touching them. Therefore, by adding a non-contact input device, we can realize an environment where you can operate it freely without getting dirty and efficiently check the information you want to know while getting ready.
KODENSHI's Technologies and Solutions
Kodenshi has established its core technologies around optoelectronic semiconductors, utilizing light-emitting elements that generate light and photodetectors that sense light. Its core sensor technologies include distance measurement sensors, photo interrupters, and photodetectors. These technologies have been applied to develop a wide variety of products, such as optical encoders, thermopiles, dust sensors, and LED light sources.
Furthermore, Kodenshi has implemented an integrated production system covering every process, from optoelectronic semiconductor design and development to wafer processing and assembly. This enables our company to provide customized solutions tailored to diverse customer needs, including semiconductor chip specifications, sensor shapes, output formats, and mounting methods.

Aerial interface module(contactless operation)
Fig.1.Aerial-Interface-Module
An Aerial-Interface-Module is a device that detects contactless gestures, such as taps and swipes, without physical contact with the equipment, enabling information input. The operating principle involves using an infrared distance sensor to detect the distance from objects, allowing the detection of fingertips and obtaining their position information, thus enabling various actions. Infrared distance sensor
Fig.2.Infrared distance sensor
An infrared distance sensor is used to measure the distance to an object without physical contact. Infrared distance sensors are typically small and cost-effective, making them suitable for a wide range of applications. They are commonly used for human detection, obstacle detection and distance measurement in robots, control of automatic doors, and non-contact control of devices, etc.

Flat type thermopile temperature sensor
Fig.3.Flat type thermopile temperature sensor
The flat-type thermopile temperature sensor is a newly developed product. In conventional models, Si lenses are used to focus incident light onto the photodetector. The manufacturing of these lenses involves significant energy consumption and material waste through processes like cutting and polishing. However, in this new development, we have employed a unique reflector structure that allows light to be concentrated on the photodetector without the need for a lens. As a result, we have achieved energy efficiency, reduced material waste, and made it cost-effective. This innovative product offers faster response times and superior temperature accuracy compared to thermistors. Therefore, it has the potential to open up new markets by improving performance in fields where thermistors have traditionally been used. Additionally, besides replacing existing thermopile-type temperature sensors, it can be applied to temperature measurement for non-contact body temperature measurement in various situations. We propose it as a high-precision, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly solution.

Dust sensor
Fig.4. Dust sensor
This sensor detects dust by irradiating particles passing through an air through-hole with infrared light and measuring the amount of light scattered. When dust is detected, the sensor outputs a negative pulse of 0V, when no dust is detected, the output is 5V. The total amount of 0V output time during a measurement period of 30 seconds is then used to calculate the amount of dust in the air.

Water detection sensor
MSG1A03
Water leakage is detected stably by combining a LED with a wavelength that is easily absorbed by water and a dedicated photodiode.
Sensor module that notifies detected data through BLE.
※Wi-Fi support is available if requested.
ORA3P03 detect the displacement in a non-contact manner by triangulation system with an infrared LED and a PSD. KE401 uses a contact lever attached to the sensor to contact the target object, detects the movement of the lever caused by the change in thickness by Encoder, converts into the amount of displacement and outputs it.
The product is equipped with a light emitter and a light receiver, which can detect the size of an object (such as a coin) inserted between them with high accuracy and high speed. Customization of area size, detection algorithm and output format (UART communication) are possible upon request
The MSG1A04 is a reflective color sensor that consists of a three-color LED and one light receiving element and reads the light reflected from an object.
It uses a selected object as the reference and outputs the rate of change against the reference.
Sensor body MTPM507
Wireless power supply module MTPM508
This is a sensor module that can measure the vacuum state inside a vacuum container without requiring wired power or signal connections.
The main sensor unit MTPM507 is installed inside the vacuum container, and it is powered externally using the MTPM508 power supply unit. The sensor signal can be retrieved wirelessly via Bluetooth communication.
